T O P I C R E V I E WLeo-Cancer98I'm asking because I don't myself as talkative as is depicted for natives with "exalted" placement.I probably would not be able to sleep for a week if I did not find a way to turn off my mind at night.------------------Cancer Rising2nd House Leo Sun3rd House Leo Mercury6th House Sagittarius Moon & Pluto1st House Cancer Venus & Mars9th House Pisces Jupiter conjunct MC.NadjaI'd say a person with Mercury in 3rd is all about communication. But that communication can be in person, through writing, online... how your particular 3rd house Mercury expresses itself depends the aspects it makes etc. Being preoccupied with communication doesn't necessarily mean beaing talkative or very social... I don't think. I can see other ways that it can be expressed. Leo-Cancer98 quote:Originally posted by Nadja:I'd say a person with Mercury in 3rd is all about communication. Putting great value on being understood, on being articulate and mature in your communication. Thus making you less enclined to prattle endlessly about anything and everything. I'd think that Mercuy trine Saturn would want to talk about more important things... Mercury-Pluto aspects tend to indicate sharp perception, focus and a gift for research. Their communication is usually sharp-tounged and intense. Best case is someone very insightful and passionate. Worst case scenario is paranoia, bitterness and conflict. Ashes2PhoenixI have Mercury in the 3rd in Scorpio also conjunct Sun/Pluto and sextile all of my outer planets. Also have MC in Gemini.I have always been a very good writer and speaker (not so much the speaking part anymore). I wouldn't say it comes naturally to me, it takes me some time to think because it's hard to focus my mind. It's also my profession.PixieJaneI don't feel limited on a verbal level, but I am better with writing, something noted by a teacher when I was 10 years old with me being told that over and over again. (I think my 5H Sag Uranus and Neptune sextile 3H merc in stellium can make me especially creative here.)Leo-Cancer98 quote:Originally posted by Nadja: Mercury/3rd house in aspect to Saturn might indicate that you are careful in your communication. Yeah, I have a tendency to not speak unless there's a relevant topic to discuss or I have something serious to say. Can't stand people who talk about superficial nonsense just for the sake of speaking. Haha, I have been mistaken to be 5 years older than my age, before even speaking. When I do though, people are convinced that I'm in my mid-twenties based on my "mature" way of speaking. RandallBump!Solar_Leo_QueenWhat sign is your Mercury in? And what sign rules your 3rd house? That could give you some clues. For example, mine is in Virgo but Leo rules the 3rd. Although I can be opinionated and expressive (Leo), I find it easier to articulate my words through writing (mercury in the 3rd). I'm terrible with public speaking as I tend to lose my train of thought and easily wander around when I speak. However, when I write, it's different. I am able to express an opinion and get my point across precisely and deliberately (Virgo). I also have Mercury square Pluto like you. It is very important to understand and be understood.I have a friend who has Mercury in Leo in the 3rd. Leo rules his 3rd house too. He's better at public speaking and is able to command an audience at will. I admire him very much for this. However, when it comes to writing, he gets a lot of grammatical errors and run-on sentences. His way of writing and speaking is more inspirational while mine is more factual. So sometimes, he can't back his written arguments properly and he gets me to proofread them. His thoughts wander around in writing just like how mine wanders around in speaking.Leo-Cancer98 quote:Originally posted by Solar_Leo_Queen:What sign is your Mercury in?
